Just make sure it doesn't interfere with removing the pan bolts/nuts. Use a step drill bit to get the appropriate size hole and then weld the fitting of your choice to the pan. There is plenty of material to tap and it drains into the pan above the oil level ( the girdle even has a lip inside that acts as a baffle for oil splash).
